ICCE Announces Renaming of Staff Award to Honor Jill Russell

We are excited to announce that the Staff Award for Excellence in Community Engagement will now be renamed the Russell Staff Award for Excellence in Community Engagement, in honor of Jill Russell, Operations Coordinator at the Institute for Community and Civic Engagement (ICCE), who retired in 2024 after 17 years of dedicated service.

Jill was a key team member and a collaborative force at ICCE from its very beginning. Her commitment to building strong community partnerships and her tireless work behind the scenes were instrumental in shaping ICCE’s success. Through her passion, Jill embodied the values this award celebrates—exceptional dedication to community engagement, collaboration, and making a meaningful difference.

The Russell Staff Award for Excellence in Community Engagement will continue to recognize SF State staff members who demonstrate outstanding achievements in community engagement, leaving a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
