Welcome!
We are so happy to have you as a host organization for our Cohort 4 Fellows!
Before students can begin at your site, there are several onboarding steps that our community partners need to complete per our compliance guidelines from our funder (California Volunteers, Office of the CA Governor and AmeriCorps).
Below provides you with the steps, information, and deadlines to get you started.
ONBOARDING CHECKLIST FOR PARTNERS
Mode: Zoom
California Volunteer Hosted Orientation for Community Host Partners State wide.
Site Supervisors are strongly encouraged to attend. For those who were unable to attend, below is link to recording.
This orientation is for all community partners, including supervisors who approve timesheets. Topics include:
- Meet College Corps staff & coordinators
- Program overview & host site introductions
- Expectations & service agreements
- America Learns / timesheets
- Protocols for student attendance
- Program readiness checklist
1:1 sessions are available for site supervisors as needed. Most sites have already completed orientation for Cohort 4 (AY 2025–26). If new staff or supervisors join during the year, we’ll schedule a session at a convenient time.
College Corps uses America Learns (AL) to track Fellows’ service hours. This is also the platform California Volunteers (CV) uses to share important updates with Fellows and partners.
- Fellows submit their hours in AL every two weeks.
- Site supervisors review and approve hours.
- Approved hours are required to release Fellows’ monthly living allowance and their Segal Education Award at the end of service.
- Timely approval is essential—Fellows’ pay depends on it.
Action Items for Site Supervisors:
- Create your America Learns account.
- Complete the America Learns asynchronous training.
This will be sent to you via DocuSign.
Each month, site supervisors have the opportunity to meet with their assigned College Corps program coordinator. These check-ins are a space to:
- Share updates on your Fellows’ onboarding and progress
- Ask questions or raise any concerns
- Stay connected on site activities, expectations, and support needs
