Team CIRCLES

Team CIRCLES is the College Corps' dedicated training and professional development component, designed to support Fellows throughout their service journey.

  • Held in person every other week, Team CIRCLES provides a required space for Fellows to:
    • Share successes and challenges.
    • Receive training to strengthen professional development and service skills.
    • Engage in collaborative learning and problem-solving with peers.
  • Attendance at Team CIRCLES is mandatory and an essential part of the College Corps program.
  • Participation in Team CIRCLES counts toward the overall service requirement, providing Fellows with up to 90 approved training hours toward their 450-hour goal.

Tracking Your Hours

Fellows should refer to their Service Agreement and review the Expectations & Timeline section and information. We want to support you in your journey and experience in the program. Please reach out and engage with SF State College Corps staff should you need any assistance in regards to tasks and meeting your hour goals. Below are resources to help keep you accountable and assist in time management.

To help guide and allow Fellows to track and project their hours outside America Learns, please see below the following resources.

Excel doc.: 25-26 Fellow Hours Completion Template - CV-SFSU

  • This Excel, you can input your projections and actuals and align them with the 2-week time periods (timesheet) in America Learns

Reminder:

PDF: Sample 25-26 Fellow hours Completion

  •  This sample PDF accounts for completing that 12-hour minimum at the host site with having all fall recess, winter, and spring breaks in mind, getting exactly 450 hours. Also, this accounts for Fellows completing all 90 hours of training (Team CIRCLES, 1:1 with CC staff, and CV Mid-Year Workshop. If not all 90 hours of training are not done, Fellows will have to make this up with service hours to reach the goal of 450 hours.

If Fellows have the flexibility to work one week before spring 2026 starts, increase hours here and there, at their host site, or attend available SF State service opportunities, this will provide more cushion, if needed.

  • Fellows will have opportunities to work service hours with SF State ICCE/College Corps through events such as the OMI Toy Drive (mid December 2026) and ongoing one-day opportunities through the year at college corps community partner sites.

Looking to serve extra hours outside of your assigned host site, build your social capital, and get ahead on your service requirement?

Fellows who have reached 200 approved service hours may sign up for additional service opportunities, including Days of Service held in locations outside of the San Francisco area.

  • Opportunities may include regional service events and special projects.
  • Participation in additional hours is optional, but a great way to continue building experience and connections.
  • Fellows must follow the steps outlined on the Additional Hours Instructions page before participating in these opportunities.
  • All additional service hours must be pre-approved by College Corps staff. Hours completed without prior approval will not count toward the 450-hour service requirement.

Program Policy Note

College Corps prioritizes service at assigned host sites as the core of each Fellow’s service experience. The 200-hour threshold ensures that Fellows have made consistent progress at their primary site before participating in additional outside service activities.
