Summer Extension Opportunity
In recognizing Fellows' efforts and addressing the challenges that many Fellows face in reaching the 450 hr. service commitment, CV has announced some updates regarding summer extension. All fellows have the opportunity to finish the program by May 31st 2025.
Graduating from the College Corps Program in the Summer
College Corps fellows have the possibility to extend the program end date up until July 31st. This is approved by College Corps Staff on a case by case basis. Please reach out to your assigned program coordinators to discuss this option.
Domestic and AB 540 tracks for summer extension will look differently
Please note the following :
- Choosing a summer extension will affect the monthly living allowance distribution.
- Students must get a new plan approved by College Corps Staff to be Eligible for Summer Extension
- Some Community Partners may not be able to host fellows past May 31st (ex. K-12 focus area) however fellows will be given the opportunity to do supplemental hours if interested in the summer extension

Team CIRCLES
Team CIRCLES is our dedicated training component designed to support fellows in their service journey. Held every other week in person provides a mandatory space for fellows to come together, share successes, strategize challenges, and engage in training aimed at enhancing their professional development skills. Team CIRCLES offers a structured environment for collaborative learning and growth. Attendance at Team CIRCLES is a requirement of the program, and provides fellows with up to 60 training hours towards their 450 hour goal.
Tracking Your Hours
Fellows should refer to their Service Agreement and review the Expectations & Timeline section and information. We want to support you in your journey and experience in the program. Please reach out and engage with SF State College Corps staff should you need any assistance in regards to tasks and meeting your hour goals. Below are resources to help keep you accountable and assist in time management.
To help guide and allow Fellows to track and project their hours outside America Learns, please see below the following resources.
Excel doc.: 24-25 Fellow Hours Completion Template - CV-SFSU
- This Excel, you can input your projections and actuals and align them with the 2-week time periods (timesheet) in America Learns
Reminder:
PDF: Sample 24-25 Fellow hours Completion
-
This sample PDF accounts for completing that 12-hour minimum at the host site with having all fall recess, winter, and spring breaks in mind, getting exactly 450 hours. Also, this accounts for Fellows completing all 90 hours of training (Team CIRCLES, 1:1 with CC staff, and CV Mid-Year Workshop. If not all 90 hours of training are not done, Fellows will have to make this up with service hours to reach the goal of 450 hours.
If Fellows have the flexibility to work one week before spring 2025 starts, increase hours here and there, at their host site, or attend available SF State service opportunities, this will provide more cushion, if needed.
- Fellows will have opportunities to work service hours with SF State ICCE/College Corps through events such as the OMI Toy Drive (mid December 2025) and the 2025 STEM Frenzy (late March 2025).
Additional Hours
Are you looking to serve more hours outside of your assigned host site (additional hours), looking for more opportunities to build your social capital, and get ahead in your hours? If so there are some days of service you can sign up for in cities outside of the San Francisco Area. Please remember to follow the steps located below on the additional hours instruction page.
