SF State Community Engaged Scholarship & CSL Reports

A faculty survey was created as a part of ICCE's obligation as directed by the University Strategic Plan. ICCE developed and distributed this campus-wide faculty survey about engaged research in spring 2019. General questions consisted of research experiences and opinions; institutional/university support; Review, Tenure, & Promotion; theoretical underpinnings; community partners; funding; and challenges, barriers, & opportunities. The survey included faculty demographics as well as a series of open-ended comments.

The Community Engagement Task Force was charged with assessing the current state of community engagement practiced within the LFCoB with a focus on the challenges and opportunities. The co-chairs were appointed by Dean Eugene Sivadas. Staff representative Mr. Manuel Maranan and faculty representative, Dr. Sybil Yang were elected. Our community representative, Mr. Bruce Kern was invited to join this Task Force. We looked through existing reports from within the college as well as at the campus level and spoke to various campus entities to inform our report. Each of these sources will be referred to in the appropriate section.
